We must understand that many of those who militantly fight for abortion rights will not cease their practices or alter their position. We must not be naive about this. These people in spirit are no different than are those who labored diligently to implement Hitler's final solution to the Jewish question. In that day the class of people was the Jew; in our day it is the pre-born child.
—David E. Everitt
Founder, Crisis Pregnancy Centers
September 8, 1986
In 1981, Dave and JoAnn Everitt sat with Elizabeth Flores in their kitchen and began to pray about starting a small clinic through which to reach out to women in the community facing an unplanned pregnancy. Their desire was to somehow help these women by providing a biblical alternative to abortion, a national epidemic that was ravaging the United States and burdening their hearts to the point of action. They envisioned calling their little clinic "Crisis Pregnancy Center."
After many months of prayer and planning, they had their first Walk-a-thon and "Family Festival of Life" on October 16, 1982. In December of that same year they saw their first client. The following January, they opened the doors at 411 Maple Street, Tempe, Arizona. During their first year of operation they cared for over 300 women in that tiny center.
The Everitt's passionate vision to see biblical values such as the sanctity of human life, marital fidelity, and abstinence-until-marriage restored as the foundation of individual lives, families, and communities across our nation has now yielded tremendous fruit in the lives of many thousands.
Prior to serving in his role at the Crisis Pregnancy Centers, Dave was a successful business leader and was the co-founder and associate pastor of a local church.
Dave's integrity and leadership skills have enabled him to develop meaningful relationships among leaders in the broader business, government, and church communities.
